Aslı's journey into aromatherapy began not in a laboratory, but in the quiet pursuit of well-being. A graduate of Boğaziçi University, she first studied psychology before turning her focus to hospitality and later building her own ventures in tourism and the restaurant industry.
A decade of self-driven study — through books, courses, Reiki and energy healing practices — led her to earn a Master's Degree in Aromatherapy. In 2012, she opened Homemade Aromaterapi's first shop in Kuzguncuk, Istanbul, her home neighborhood, driven by one conviction: aromatherapy should not be reserved for the spa. It belongs in everyday life.

Today, Aslı and her team handcraft every product in small batches in the brand's GMP-certified Istanbul laboratory. She sources cold-pressed fixed oils, pure essential oils, and botanicals with obsessive care — buying locally whenever possible, and always prioritizing purity over convenience. For Aslı, these products are not about vanity. They are about spiritual growth and the connection between mind, body and spirit.

Pure by definition
Every formula is free of synthetic additives, parabens, SLS and SLES. What goes in is only what nature provides — cold-pressed oils, pure essential oils, hydrolats, and responsibly harvested botanicals.

Products are prepared following apothecary traditions — in porcelain mortars, in small batches — inside our GMP and ISO 9001-certified Istanbul laboratory. Old craft, verified quality.

Aromatherapy for every day
We exist to make aromatherapy a daily ritual, not a spa luxury. From morning skin care to home fragrance to travel protection — our products are designed to be lived with, not saved for special occasions.
From origin country to your hands
HMA works closely with local Turkish producers for rose, rosemary, sage and thyme, while all other essential oils are sourced directly from the countries where they grow best. Most base oils are produced in-house from Turkish herbs. Purity is non-negotiable — if the best source is abroad, that is where we go.
Learning aromatherapy, hands-on
Beyond products, Homemade Aromaterapi is a school. HMA has run monthly workshops from the beginning — four-hour sessions covering the science and practice of essential oils, how to create personal blends, and how to incorporate aromatherapy into daily wellbeing routines.
Workshops cover topics including essential oil blending, chakra balancing, seasonal formulation, and natural home care. They are designed for everyone: first-time curious visitors and experienced practitioners alike.
The brand also offers certified aromatherapy training for those who want to go deeper — carrying forward Aslı's own journey of formal study.

Glass packaging is preferred wherever possible. Customers are invited to return finished glass cosmetic packaging at any Homemade Aromaterapi store for recycling.

Every product is made in small quantities in our Istanbul laboratory. This ensures freshness, traceability, and the kind of attention that large-scale manufacturing cannot replicate.
